2.00pm - 4.00pm Resourcing Workshop - Silver Fern Farms Cooking Class Opportunities in the food industry, and a practical cooking session using tasty recipes for beef, venison and lamb run by chef Greg Piner – currently Group Chef at Vault 21 and Prohibition in Dunedin. Chef Greg Piner trained in Greymouth and over the years has steadily worked his way up the ladder. He has worked at many leading restaurants and luxury lodges alongside some of New Zealand’s best-known chefs. These include Warwick Brown at Mikano, Richard Cross at Millbrook, Christchurch Casino and Michael Coughlin at Pier 24 in Dunedin. Prior to his current role he spent five years as head chef at Pier 24 Restaurant at Hotel St Clair. | |

What training or qualifications did they need for the role? - The Future: What’s their next step if they want to change roles? How transferable are their skills? What are their career prospects in the next 5-10 years? Michelle Glogau, CEO, GrowingNZ, will also provide an overview of opportunities in the primary industry including the current and future skills needed by many sectors, and the range of activities, resources and events to help teachers and students explore these exciting opportunities. |
